Our Story

  After a combined 20+ years in the wireless and home internet industry, Jason and Lydia witnessed firsthand the growing disconnect between rapidly evolving technology and the real world support people actually receive. Too often, customers left stores feeling more confused and frustrated than empowered. They felt disconnected from the very devices meant to simplify their lives.


Motivated by a shared passion for extraordinary service and genuine connection, Jason and Lydia founded Connect U to flip the script. What started as a vision for better tech assistance has grown into a full scale tech concierge and digital life coaching service that provides personalized, judgment free tech assistance and training services for residents and businesses in Frederick and surrounding counties.


At its core, Connect U is about reintroducing human warmth into the world of technology. We specialize in making technology accessible and stress free for all ages and skill levels through comprehensive services including in-home tech coaching, smartphone and device training classes, mobile device setup and data transfer, and customer service liaison assistance.


 We also serve as your Personal Home Tech Concierge offering patient, in-home guidance, setup, and support. 


Through our Connect U-niversity program, we provide personalized coaching for smart devices, apps, voice assistants, phones, tablets, and wearables in both one-on-one and group formats. Our patient, empowering approach ensures clients gain confidence and digital independence as we bridge the gap between innovation and everyday life, one person, one home, and one connection at a time.

Jason Gold

 Founder & Chief Solutions Officer

 With over 13 years in the wireless and home internet industry in Maryland, Jason has built a reputation for redefining customer service and driving innovation. 


Consistently ranked in the top 1% nationwide and a six-time President’s Club honoree, he’s known for delivering results and earning 100% positive customer satisfaction scores.


Jason excels at simplifying complex technology, turning jargon into clear, relatable insights that empower people to get the most out of their tech. 


He believes technology should enhance life, create connection, and inspire confidence.


As a mentor and trainer, Jason created impactful workshops and classes that helped tech professionals better serve customers and unlock the full value of digital tools. 


His leadership style blends clarity, empathy, and a commitment to excellence, inspiring both clients and teams to reach their highest potential.

Lydia Smith

 Co-Founder & Chief Experience Officer

 With a 7-year track record in the wireless and home internet industry in Maryland, Lydia quickly rose through the ranks from sales representative to mentor, trainer, Store Leader, and ultimately District Manager. 


Her ability to lead with clarity, coach with heart, and connect on a human level sets her apart as a top performer and trusted leader.


Lydia is known for creating high performing teams and cultivating a culture of positivity, engagement, and empowerment.


 Her natural talent for building trust and delivering exceptional customer experiences consistently yielded 100% satisfaction ratings.


Driven by a deep passion for people, Lydia’s leadership is grounded in empathy, energy, and purpose. 


She ensures every team member and customer feels seen, heard, and valued turning everyday interactions into meaningful experiences that inspire confidence and loyalty.
